The merchant value is calculated from the actual item's level and rarity. Weapon, Ring and Necklace slots receive a ×1.3 multiplier; Ancient doubles the value before rounding. Upgrades, affixes and sockets are not inputs to this price.

Formula: item level × 0.25 × slot multiplier × (1 + 0.3 × rarity index), rounded to the nearest integer, with a minimum of 1 gold. Rarity indices: Common 0, Uncommon 1, Rare 2, Legendary 3, Divine 4.

Example at item level 9999, Legendary: 4,750 gold; Ancient: 9,499 gold. Match the item level and Ancient status of your gear before comparing the price.
