PaladinNotes & strategy
Time to bring in Engineer. Paladin keeps things steady with healing, while Engineer adds ranged damage and Shock/Expose from gear. The party buffs come a little later. Buy Rune of Command I at Lv5 for 300 gold to open your second hero slot. Engineer's class unlock is another 500 gold. A fresh recruit starts at Lv1, so the Lv5 Engineer in this preview is your catch-up goal. Spend points based on her actual level; the catch-up bonus can help her close the gap. What to level You still have just ONE active skill per hero. Paladin: Vital Blessing rank 2 at Lv5, rank 3 at Lv6, rank 4 at Lv8. Engineer: Chain Shot rank 1 at her Lv2, then add a rank every two levels. Aim for rank 2 at Lv5, rank 3 at Lv6 and rank 4 at Lv8. Keep Vital Blessing and Chain Shot in their active slots. Gear to aim for Stick with item level 1 for this bracket. The Rare pieces show the affixes to chase, but decent Common/Uncommon gear is fine while you build the set. Upgrade weapon/offhand first. Paladin wears heavy armor and Engineer wears medium, so split your drops accordingly. Where to farm — Veil Lv5: 2-6 Lv6: 2-9 Lv7: 3-2 Lv8: 3-5 Lv9: 3-8 Your passive path The saved tree covers Lv5. Origin is free. After that, add one node per level in this order; each ID lines up with the next level from Lv6 to 9. Paladin: 169 > 170 > 171 > 144 Engineer: 140 > 184 > 185 > 186 Keep the XP flowing These are farming spots to try once unlocked. Compare XP over a few minutes and stick with the fastest clean clears. If a stage feels slow or you start dying, drop back 1-3 stages. Clear bosses to unlock the next area; don't get stuck forcing one four levels above you. An XP pet is a bonus if you already own one, not a requirement.
