If the live picker says “contains system files”, cancel that dialog and use the snapshot button above to select the same save.json. Browsers protect AppData from automatic file access. A snapshot updates only when you load it again.

Automatic following (optional)

Only available for files the browser allows direct access to. AppData and other system folders are blocked. A one-time copy in another folder does not update with the game.

Where is my save.json?

On Windows, press Windows + R, paste this folder path, then press Enter.

Open the QuestAway save folder and choose your save.json. You can also paste this path into File Explorer's address bar. %APPDATA% opens your own Windows user's roaming app-data folder.
