QuestAway 1.0.4: automatic chests, Arena and combat changes

Official 1.0.4 changes to chest automation, Arena leagues, Market restrictions, combat and offline progress.

The developer announced QuestAway 1.0.4. This summary follows the official Steam announcement; the main catalog tables are verified against client revision 81313ae7534b, Steam build 26257021. Historical derived defaults are labeled separately.

Chest automation and Codex

Master Key automatically opens dropped chests; Steward sends chest rewards to the stash before the bag. They unlock at Codex levels 80 and 100 respectively, with switches in Inventory and Stash. Collect & Deposit unlocks both earlier for 500 Crystals. Buyers receive +5% found gold per glyph and +1% per chest-cooldown link instead, and automatic deposit is enabled on purchase. Chest cooldown links unlock before level 80. Prospector and Gold Rush each grant +5% found gold.

Arena

League thresholds are Silver 1,100, Gold 1,250, Platinum 1,500, Diamond 1,800 and Legend 2,000 points. Players must attack at least once during the month to appear in the PvP rankings and leagues or receive monthly rewards.

Market

A first Crystal purchase has a 48-hour wait before those Crystals can be used in the Market; Shop, House and Clan use is immediate, and later purchases do not introduce another wait. Heroic equipment is listed for Crystals only; existing gold listings continue until they end. Minimum Crystal prices are 50 for Eternal, 25 for Legendary, 5 for Mythic and 10 per Colossus material unit; the same minima apply to offers on displayed house items. Crystals can no longer be sent via a house guestbook. Purchases are recorded in Market Inbox and My listings. Steam item-transfer limits reset at 00:00 UTC; refused transfers do not count.

Combat and offline

Fury starts empty each fight and fills as the hero is hit; at full charge its damage bonus is at most the Fury value. Passive percentage bonuses now affect bleed, poison, burn, decay, thorns and shield skills. Thorns hit the attacker on every hit taken, returning double thorns damage. Most Colossus attacks now knock down their targets and many basic attacks deal damage in time with their animation. Engineer cannon shots hit harder.

Offline rewards now use the nearest stage where no hero falls; the displayed party remains on the stage where it was left. Three runewords were added, including early and legendary options for each element. The 1.0.4 client adds three weapon runewords: Void (Onyx + Onyx + Putrid Gem), Thunderstrike (Citrine + Citrine + Citrine + Voltaic Gem + Prismatic Gem) and Wildfire (Garnet + Garnet + Garnet + Burning Gem + Prismatic Gem). The 18 previous runewords have half their former raw base values, while the default gem scale changed from 0.5 to 1. Their effective bonuses therefore remain the same at the same tier under default settings. The lowest gem tier determines the multiplier.

Other changes

Ctrl + right-click deposits an item into the open stash tab regardless of affinity. Graphics quality has High, Medium and Low options. Clan and friend requests have Accept all. Team notices open once and remain in Mail. The announcement also describes fixes for Market, Arena, Colossus, deferred enchantment and gem transmutation, memory use and other interfaces. See the complete developer notes.

Client XP setting

The reviewed 1.0.4 client ships a ×0.8 map XP setting for Veil, Breach and Abyss. The encounter formula applies it alongside each map’s existing XP factor before minimums and other modifiers. Live balance can override this setting.
