Equipment stats, rolls and sockets

Understand item level, random affixes, sockets and Mystery equipment.

Item level and stat ranges

Choose an item level on an equipment page to see the minimum and maximum of each possible stat. Item level is separate from character level and skill rank. Ranges are base rolls, before upgrades, gems or character modifiers. For example, an eligible Legendary helm at item level 70 can roll +5–6 Strength.

These are the number of affixes drawn from the eligible pools, not a promise that every listed stat appears. Divine and Back equipment use their own fixed-stat rules; check the item details.

Classes, upgrades and sockets

A class filter includes universal gear and gear compatible with the selected class. Some stat rolls also depend on class. Item pages show upgrade limits, socket limits and available stat pools. See sockets and affixes for socket requirements, and crafting and upgrades for materials and costs.

Mystery equipment

Mystery items generate gear when opened. Their preview lets you choose the output rarity and item level; it does not guarantee that result. The Mystery item itself has a fixed sale price, while generated equipment uses its own item-level sale calculation.

Finding equipment

Known drops and farming locations appear near the item overview. If a named drop source is unknown, the wiki says so. Loot and rarity rules explain general eligibility and relative rarity weights; they do not guarantee a particular named item.

Current patch: 1.0.3

The announcement adds 12 Legendary equipment types, their Black Mist variants, and 2 Divine items. Browse the refreshed equipment catalog for eligibility, effects and stat previews. Black Mist base chance increases 0.25% → 0.32%; the Rune Set rarity weight increases 0.7 → 0.9. The latter is a relative weight within eligible rune loot, not a per-enemy drop percentage. Difficulty and other loot checks still apply.

9 Uncommon runes → 1 Rare rune now succeeds 100% of the time. Other transmute tiers keep their own rules. Current recipes. Existing Divine equipment in offline saves refreshes when loaded, according to the announcement.
