QuestAway 1.0.3: contribution medals and Arena rules 7
Verified Colossus participation and contribution rankings, Arena starting cooldowns and refreshed client data.
This wiki follows QuestAway 1.0.3, client revision 4f8242680dd7, Steam build 26208580. The completed Steam download was inspected while installation was paused because the previous executable was locked. This is a static client comparison against 1.0.2, not an official developer announcement. Live online state and server decisions can differ.
Colossus medals use contribution
Contribution combines damage dealt + damage taken. A hunter needs positive fighting time and at least 15% of the Colossus's recorded alive-time when that duration is known. For a ten-minute hunt, that minimum is 90 seconds. Time eligibility alone does not guarantee a chest.
Among eligible hunters, the client assigns medals by contribution rank:
| Medal | Cumulative contribution cutoff | Example: 1,000 eligible hunters |
|---|---|---|
| Diamond | Top 0.5% | Ranks 1–5 |
| Gold | Top 5.5%, after Diamond | Ranks 6–55 |
| Silver | Top 50%, after Gold | Ranks 56–500 |
| Bronze | Remaining eligible ranks | Ranks 501–1,000 |
Cutoffs round up; Diamond has at least one place. These are cumulative boundaries, not additive tier sizes. The Colossus must fall for a Silver, Gold or Diamond chest, and the shared limit remains 2 chests per day. Bronze receives gold rather than a medal chest. The server supplies the eligible participant count and your current contribution rank.
The former 50%/75% participation tiers and top-5%-damage Diamond rule belong to 1.0.2. The current Rift guide, examples and medal calculations now use the 1.0.3 rules.
Arena rules version 7
Non-permanent active skills begin a rules-7 fight on their cooldowns. Permanent effects are exempt. The client now defines a fixed 1,000 initial rating points, replacing the former power-based initial-rating parameters. The per-fighter health scaling retained from rules 6 is unchanged. Replays remain tied to their rules version; these client definitions do not establish that existing server ratings are reset. Arena guide.
Catalog and compatibility
The reviewed class, skill, equipment, gem, passive-tree, Codex, crafting and account tables retain their 1.0.2 values. The catalog still has 10 classes, 200 skills, 2,224 passive nodes and 355 Codex runes. Existing saved catalog IDs remain valid. Current-version labels and generated references now follow 1.0.3; earlier update articles remain available.
Extraction and sources
The new distribution moves artwork into an adjacent arte directory while retaining the application definitions and several metadata files in the executable. The wiki extractor now reads both layouts and verifies external asset hashes. It does not launch or modify the game, inspect accounts or read player saves.
The executable SHA-256 is b0d38db0e8b7196c6749e184d6a8c70f83f367b22523a7eea1ae113f353d0252. Steam announcements checked during this review still ended at 1.0.2, so this comparison does not attribute unannounced changes to an official patch note.
