QuestAway 1.0.8: damage marks respect their owner’s group
Installed-client comparison: damage-mark accumulation fix, refreshed native simulator and verified unchanged equipment, passive and skill tables.
Verified installed QuestAway 1.0.8, revision 69bfb0b91983, Steam build 26399670, observed 3 November 2026. These are installed-client findings, not official 1.0.8 patch notes.
Damage-mark accumulation
An active mark now accumulates a damage event only when the damaging actor belongs to the mark owner's combat group. Other groups attacking the same target cannot feed it. The mark owner must resolve to a combat actor. Friendly-side damage, expired marks and the exclusive expiry boundary are still excluded.
This is a change in the native active-skill rule handler, not a new damage coefficient. Death Mark's skill explanation and the combat reference now describe the group check. The simulator has been rebuilt from the reviewed 1.0.8 core.
What was checked
All 156 main tables were resolved: the version table changes, while 155 gameplay tables match 1.0.7 after native tree normalization. Equipment bases, affix order, item-level rules, gems, scrolls, enhancement, skill scaling and normalized passive effects match the previous snapshot. All 357 Codex nodes, 24 combat-delivery definitions and 49 supplemental client systems match too. No new catalog item or passive-tree topology change was found.
The focused regression covers same-group damage, another group's damage, missing owners, friendly-side damage and expired marks. Formula parity checks cover all 200 skills at ten ranks, resolved hits, penetration, Thorns Growth and timing helpers.
Announcement and live-server differences
The official Steam feed now contains 1.0.7 developer notes. The Colossus guide distinguishes the announcement's 25% attendance requirement from the shipped 15% client constant; the live hunt display determines eligibility. Inspection privacy follows account settings and the server response. These source differences are not claimed as new 1.0.8 balance changes.
