QuestAway 1.0.9 removes Professions and rebalances scrolls

Profession retirement, updated Forge Scroll and Enchant scaling, save migration and native simulator verification.

Verified installed QuestAway 1.0.9, revision 53379fc6b3a3, Steam build 26422842, observed 4 November 2026. Executable SHA-256: 95690f290edf864dc10e1a8c5597ab23acb3363f6b0481a6266cbc89a2014633.

Professions and crafting progression

Profession levels, XP, specializations and signature stats were removed. Blacksmithing and Jewelry remain Forge recipe lines. Forge brackets still use hero level and combined forge count. Alchemy unlocks use brew count and Scroll tiers use hero level and scroll crafts. The four profession-level Steam achievement definitions are marked retired in the client.

Forge Scroll, Enchant and older equipment

First round down the native affix base for the item level and rarity. Multiply that base by 10% per scroll tier, round down again and apply a minimum of one. A random enchant uses the Tier 1 value. Infusions retain their separate 50% to 60% conversion curve.

Save schema 22 removes stored profession and focus state. The game recalculates stored stat enchants and the forge-scroll affix in inventory, stash, active-party and bench gear when upgrading an older save.

Verified gameplay references

The comparison resolved 156 table identities. 154 match 1.0.8, while the version changed and the Professions table was removed. Passive-tree topology and normalized effects, equipment affix pools, gems, skill coefficients, boss-chest level rules and combat constants were verified. All 357 Codex nodes and 24 combat-delivery definitions also match. The native simulator uses the 1.0.9 core, including the updated equipment calculations.

The reviewed native Forge costs for item levels 30, 40, 50 and 60 are 4,000, 8,000, 18,000 and 60,000 gold. Both 1.0.8 and 1.0.9 use these prices. The Workbench tables now show the native Forge price curve.
