Stats, effects and controls

Character-sheet units, defensive ratings, scaling context, native settings and useful controls.

Read the character sheet by unit

The Status screen summarizes a hero’s current stats after relevant modifiers. A class catalog shows base definitions; a skill coefficient describes one part of a formula. Neither is a promise of final damage, healing or survival in a particular fight. Equipment, gems, passives, skill rank, account effects, targets and runtime balance all matter.

Many native percentage stats use basis points: 100 = 1%. The character-sheet display applies special scales to raw Health, Regen and Absorption. Flat, percentage and increased modifiers retain separate meanings; do not add their raw numbers as though the units matched.

Attack, spell scaling, critical chance, critical multiplier, armor, resistance, accuracy, block and dodge do different jobs. Compare the stat a skill actually scales from before changing gear. A resistance percentage and a maximum-resistance modifier are also different quantities. The current mitigation and timing formulas are explained in Combat rules; Skills keeps effect and scaling details next to each skill.

Effects and account bonuses

Read durations and conditions on debuffs, shields, regeneration and damage-over-time effects. An effect’s icon alone does not show its stacking behavior or its boss-specific handling. Potions have their own duration/use rules; see Potions and Workbench. Hero passive effects belong to that hero; Codex and Circle bonuses follow their explicit account rules.

Gold Find, XP Find and Drop Find affect economy parameters, while offline efficiency and offline duration have separate formulas. A larger currency number does not necessarily improve combat. See Economy and offline progress and the Circle.

General and gameplay settings

The native Settings window separates General, Gameplay, Graphics, Audio and support options. General includes language, screen/window behavior, the Activity window, launch at desktop startup and system-tray behavior. Startup/tray actions apply to the desktop client. Switching game mode reloads the game and returns to the Online / Offline choice; progression in those modes is separate.

Gameplay options include gem display size/visibility, confirmation before Salvage, the battle quick menu on right-click, and preselecting an item type when opening the Forge. Enable salvage confirmation when comparing items or managing protected equipment. The Activity window is a compact log of events; pinning it locks its position, and an unpinned window can be dragged by its header.

Graphics and accessibility

Graphics provides window, arena, HUD and item scales; maximum FPS options include 30, 60, 120 and Unlimited, plus a separate out-of-focus FPS setting. UI Layout places the interface at the chosen screen position. Reset game position restores the arena and menu windows to the layout’s position on the current monitor; double-clicking the arena is the matching native shortcut.

Visual toggles include FPS display, damage numbers, ragdoll deaths, impact shake, spell effects and opacity, storm lightning, screen flashes, chest-opening effects, workbench effects and enhancement glow. The native tooltips explicitly distinguish these visual effects from fight results: turning off spell effects, lightning or flashes does not change whether powers hit. House has its own visual settings. These controls let you change presentation without inferring new stat bonuses.

Audio and useful controls

Audio has separate sliders for Master Volume, Background Music, Battle Effects, UI Sound Effects and Exploration Records Effects. The reset-volumes action restores their client defaults. Master mute and a quieter category are separate settings; inspect the relevant slider if one sound group seems absent.

Space invokes Open All Chests when its Grab All feature is unlocked, chests are present and gameplay is active. The handler ignores Space while an input, textarea or select is focused. It does not bypass the Codex unlock. Use the battle quick menu with right-click when that option is enabled, and double-click the arena to restore its layout position.

Support settings include a log-folder action and, in Offline mode, an account-save reset action. A reset removes local progression; it is not a routine way to rearrange a build or clear the bench. Use the party, skill and storage controls for those tasks.

These rules come from the installed QuestAway 0.8.1 client, revision 6d1e887bd1c0, with shipped settings applied. Runtime balance and server-controlled availability can differ.
