Getting started in QuestAway
Build a party, find your class skills, follow map progression and work toward your first pet.
QuestAway is an idle RPG built around a party of up to four heroes. Start by reading the role of each hero, then choose skills and equipment that work together. This wiki uses the installed beta 0.7.3 client.
1. Choose a party
A guardian can hold the frontline, a warden can provide support, and elementalists add damage. Compare the Warrior, Healer, Mage and Archer before committing resources. Each class has 20 skills arranged into four lines.
2. Read the skill effect
Open a class page to see its skill lines. Skill details list the effect, native base cooldown and scaling stat. A scaling coefficient is not a damage promise: your hero stats, rank and enemies matter. Match equipment bonuses to the stat a skill actually uses.
3. Follow map progression
Begin on Veil. Each map has ten acts with ten stages per act. The later difficulties are Breach and Abyss. Inspect an act page to find its monster roster and pet hunts. The beta uses different names in the map screen and the bestiary, so both identities are kept where relevant.
4. Work toward a pet
Tideling is tied to act 1 kills in the client defaults. Other pets require different acts, and some are purchased. A pet page separates flat stat bonuses, percentage bonuses and economic effects. Runtime settings may change the listed kill requirement.
5. Improve equipment deliberately
A weapon base defines the possible affixes. Rarity and item level decide the rolled result. Compare the base's affix pool with your main skills before replacing a useful item. Check gem bonuses for the socket category you are using, then look at runeword combinations.
